Work Work

I start work on Monday. Overtime. 5 days a week, until school starts. Hey at least I'll be busy!

Btw, those White Castle free Crave Case coupons do work. Chris has 15 burgers in his house to prove it :P!

Engine-what???

I don't think its possible to ever make any kind of decision without any regret. After going to orientation at NIU I realize the completely different life I may be having. At Purdue you didn't even ask if someone was in engineering, in fact you could probably ask "What engineering are you in?" before you asked what major and still get a proper response. Out of probably 200-300 people at the transfer orientation on Monday, guess how many engineers? 4. Yes thats 4. Now I understand that yes, Purdue is indeed an engineering school and that of course I should expect something different. But 4?! 4. 4. 4/300 is like slightly over 1 percent. Maybe I falsely counted the amount of people in orientation. To be fair some parents were there. But seriously 4 people.
Not only were there only 4 people, but I was the sole person going to Industrial Engineering. The other 3 went to Mechanical (excellent choice, just not my style). The one good thing about having so little people was that the Associate Dean was the one taking us around the engineering building and you could tell a lot of the engineers at school knew him as they all had very warm salutations.

I am looking forward to school. Don't get me wrong. I'm hoping I can make strong relationships with people like the Associate Dean and so forth so that I can stand out among the 20 engineers. :'(. Its quite sad how few there are though.
I'm not even sure the point of this post. I am just blasting my worried thoughts out. At least the competition among engineers at NIU is much less.

Ho ho ho

Was anyone else completely appalled when Dr. Green spoke about the Holocaust today? I thought it was incredibly insensitive and terribly inappropriate. It didn't even coincide with his point very well; he spent probably 3 minutes trying to elaborate on how the Nazi's were "sincere" in their actions. Maybe I'm being too critical but to use such hot buttons as dramatic impact I find very immature. He could've easily used an example of his own life or maybe a personal story of someone else's but I really really did not like his example today. I did miss a lot of the sermon in the beginning so that might not have helped. Still, I'm terribly disappointed.

Hmm what else to write?

I am about to eat some chow mein. Nom nom nom.
